Notes: The fifth Australia Cup tournament saw the third all Sydney final in five years. Participation in the Cup series was limited to one team from the ACT, Queensland, Western Australia and Tasmania, two from Northern New South Wales and South Australia with four from Victoria and Sydney (NSW). APIA confirmed themselves as one of the best club sides since Federation winning the League Minor Premiership and the Federation Cup before backing up to win the Australia Cup. Sadly an ugly crowd riot at the Semi Final between South Melbourne Hellas and Sydney Hakoah saw the abandonment of the game after 71 minutes. Sydney Hakoah were subsequently awarded the match with South Melbourne Hellas barred from participation in the 1967 Australia Cup.
