Carlton United were crowned 1909 Victorian Amateur League Champions.
Note: The final season table of the first ever league season in Victoria is not complete. While every effort has been made to determine the results and scores from all thirty matches played in this short season, there is still at least one match where the final score is not known, the Round 6 fixture involving Carlton and Fitzroy on June 12. The Herald published a final table of sorts on July 23, unfortunately omitting the goals columns. As a result, it can be determined that Carlton defeated Fitzroy in the aforementioned fixture. There is some conjecture as to the score reported for the Melbourne United v Prahran match played on the same day, noted as 7-2 and strangely deemed a 'practice game' in a news report in The Herald the following week. In any event, the score for this match has been included when composing the final, albeit incomplete table.
