Australia was invited to play in the 6th Jakarta Anniversary Cup Tournament in Indonesia. Under director of coaching Eric Worthington the Australain Soccer Federation took care of a squad that was picked in such a way that every state was represented instead of on player merit. Worthington could not make use of some other first string players because they were involved in an Australian squad playing visiting club sides Manchester United and Glasgow Rangers. The first match of the tournament saw Australia play South Korea.

The USSR side toured Australia in November and December 1975 to play a series of six matches against the Australian national side. There was much disappointment from the Australian soccer public when it was revealed that the top players from the USSR had stayed behind to play matches in Europe. It was widely considered that the USSR team was in fact only a B side and so these matches appear in the B archive.
