Well Brazil are showing formidable form and eventhough the first half remained scoreless it was always fairly clear that it would be a shock were Norway to win. Brazil had ample oppertunity to open their scoring but a mixture of bad luck and good Goalkeeping by Thomas Myhre kept them out. A series of crosses at the other end forced Dida into saving a goal from Espen Doland's header after a Thomas Oestvold cross. Nordengen forced an even better save from Dida after another header after Hafstad started the move. Adriano was best for the Brazilians up front and when he did miss it wasn't by much. Clearly a goal was going to come but the first half was whistled to an end before one came. Adriano was fouled in the penalty box early in the second half but offside was given against him rather than the expected (by me) penalty. Nice interplay between Adriano and Gian broke the goal drought for Brazil when Gian was given a clear sight of goal and shot home high into goal. The second goal came after Cate was the recipient of a Hai Ngoc Tran mistake and Adriano beat the offside trap to score from the right only three minutes after the first goal. Brazil threatened to score more and Norway were, after a valiant first half, hopelessly outclassed in the second. However, their defence was resilient enough to absorb the attacks. Other sides may not be so forgiving if Brazil continue to blow as many chances as they have, but danger looms as they begin to click. Brazil 2 (Gian 59, Adriano 62) - Norway 0
