Canberra Eclipse made a sluggish start in their must-win game against Northern NSW Pride and found themselves a goal behind in the 14th minute. Fullback Lorissa Stevens made the initial attack up the right flank, and the ball eventually found its way to Hayley Crawford who finished with a great first-time volley.

Pride's Katie Gill was unlucky not to double the lead before Eclipse gradually held the greater percentage of possession. Northern however remained dangerous on the break and were stronger in the 50-50 challenges. Canberra finished the half strongly, Peita-Claire Hepperlin hitting the underside of the crossbar and Caitlin Munoz also unlucky.

Eleven minutes after the break, Pride's Stevens received her marching orders for an off-the-ball foul on left flanker Sacha Wainwright who was starting to make dangerous raids up the left flank. A minute later, Eclipse equalised and Northern were never to recover. A Wainwright cross was not cleared and Amy Wilson headed home from a crowded goalmouth. Wilson then gave Canberra the lead in the 77th minute, driving from 15 metres. Seven minutes later, Caitlin Munoz hit a fantastic side volley which hit the underside of the bar and bounced down. Wilson put the ball in over the line to celebrate her hattrick and the crucial win.

NSW Sapphires, safe in the knowledge they had already secured their grandfinal berth, defeated Queensland Sting 3-0 with a solid performance. Holding a single point lead on rivals Canberra, Queensland played somewhat of a cautious game, but in the end were outplayed by the more experienced NSW.

The Sapphires took the lead in the 35th minute, Kelly Golebiowski presented with the ball by a poor goalkeeper's kick, the striker calmly slotting the ball home past the provider. Queensland showed more urgency in their desperation to pull a goal back before half-time, and were unlucky when Olivia Hohnke's long range attempt rocked against the crossbar.

Midway through the second half, Heather Garriock doubled the Sapphires' lead, finishing off a neat ball from Joanne Peters. Sting continued to battle but with no avail, and NSW scored a third in stoppage time, Garriock cutting the ball back for Alicia Cavanagh to head in.

Adelaide Sensation proved too good for Victoria Vision, comfortably winning 4-1 to send them back to a fourth place finish. Sensation dominated throughout, causing plenty of headaches for the Vision defence.

Lia Augimeri was rewarded with a hattrick, opening with a header in the 18th minute. Augimeri then scored a minute either side of half-time, firstly a powerful header from a Bernadette Madden cross, and then another with the head set up by the run and cross by Leanne Slater.

Lisa De Vanna then put Adelaide further ahead in the 70th minute, a brilliant solo effort weaving past several opponents before slotting home. Victoria scored a consolation goal in stoppage time, Belinda Pacella the scorer.
