Note: While Joshua Kennedy was initially named to be part of the squad his club, Nagoya Grampus, refused to release him as the match days do not fall on FIFA match days. This is also why many other first choice players did not make it. The other reason has to do with looking for viable new talent ahead of the World Cup, and many of the A-League 'stars' being involved in an exhibition match against Manchester United in Sydney.
