This match was the second in a three match series played in Australia against New Zealand. This game saw Australia defeat New Zealand and take an unbeatable lead in the series 2-0. Australia finished the match with a 6-4 win but it was not before New Zealand had clawed their way back from 5-0 with four goals to 5-4. Australia sealed the match through the boot of Hughes. This was a friendly match.
