With Australia going into the match still 2-1 up the pressure was on the Canadians and they responded with a 4-1 victory to square the series. Australia played the match with only ten men losing Storey after 25 minutes and replacements not permitted. This was a friendly match.

This match was added to the five match series after the Adelaide match to recoup some of the money that had been lost on the tour. Up until the Adelaide match the Canadian tour had lost 1,148 pounds so another Sydney match to decide the series was scheduled. The match was billed as the decider but the organisers were somewhat disappointed that only 8,000 spectators turned up to see the game. This match was a friendly match.
