Australia 1 - Nigeria 0

Beautiful Display from the Olyroos against the current Olympic Champions of the world. The only disappointing aspect of this match was the number of chances wasted from shots and crosses. Brett Emerton gave Nigeria a headache but most uncharacteristicly wasted many final balls.

The goal came from a Kasey Wehrman chip in the middle, Hayden Foxe first time cross onto the head of Danny Allsopp. A great turn out for the 4-nations tournament, Nicky Rizzo, Bresciano, Grella(who will probably make his 1st appearance next game) Baser (looking like he's been sunbaking on Greek Islands for the last 6 months), Didulica(great performance), amongst other great names of the Socceroo future.

I watched the game this morning between Souths and Necaxa, and I simply have to say that the match tonight was of a much higher standard. Considering that Nigeria are the current Olympic champions, and for Australia to run them ragged, speaks nothing louder than "PUT YOUR MONEY ON US FOR GOLD!". Add the prospect of a Kewell, and then 3 overage (Okon, Viduka, Bosnich...) it's time to start counting down the days. I think it's under 250 now.

I watched the game this morning between Souths and Necaxa, and I simply have to say that Greg Blake is the most quick-witted, amusing and entertaining commentator, bar none.

After 60 minutes, the fire alarm at Hindmarsh went off (for 5 mins). Appropriately ther was a substitution at that point, to which Mr Blake implies should be the new protocol to ensure referees are aware of the move. Aswell as appropriate comments about Australia being on fire, Aliens landing a spaceship, I particularly found amusing Mr Blake's reference of "locking up his bike" with some of the Nigerian players' jewellery. Honestly, if you can't play with a watch or earing, you should have seen the length of some of the necklaces.
