The Newcastle Jets missed a great opportunity to climb further up the table when with 10 minutes remaining Nichols found Franjic with a perfect pass - the Jets appealed vigorously for offside against Franjic, he in turn centred for Solarzano to tap in to give the visitors are the draw, The Roar are now 11 games undefeated.

The opening period saw both teams start lively, Roar playing their clever passing game, the Jets leaving men forward and pressing the Roar defence at every opportunity.

It was the Jets who created the first chance, Susak fouls Abbas at the edge of the area, the Iraqi gets up to take the free kick but bends it over the cross bar.

The Roar respond immediately a Broich free kick is headed just wide by Smith.

On 7 minutes D'Apuzzo finds Jesic who is clear on goal he strikes it well but Theoklitos does well to save with his legs.

Barbarouses shows wonderful pace down the right hand side, he beats 3 players on a run into the penalty area but Topor-Stanley is there to clear.

A back pass has Theoklitos in trouble Jeffers is able to pounce and close the goal keeper down but the ball doesn't fall right for the Jets it falls to Abbas his shot is blocked.

Jeffers is in the action again, he is played through with only Theoklitos to beat, the goal keeper comes of his line and the ball hits his arm outside the penalty area but Theoklitos gets away with it and he clears the ball.

Reinaldo who has a wonderful scoring record in Newcastle blasts one from 20 meters but its straight at Kennedy.

On 24 minutes the Jets string some beautiful passes together Jesic finds Kantarovski who hits a curling shot that Theoklitos is able to touch around the post

The Jets begin to dominate, Milicevic is charging forward and the 5th corner by Wehrman is again for the 5th time headed clear.

A Barbarouses free kick is headed by Kantarovski back towards his own goal but he recovers to clear off the line.

On 35 minutes Reinaldo wins possession in the middle of the park he charges forward and with only Kennedy to beat blasts one straight at him.

The first half ends with another Jets passing move this ends with a Jeffers shot that Theoklitos touches around the post, its not picked up by referee Peter green though as he gives a goal kick.

Its 0-0 at half time and the Jets are taking it up to the A-Leagues best.

Finally Wehrmans 8th corner produces a result as Kantarovski heads home to score his first ever A-League goal – its 1-0 Jets on 53 minutes.

Moments later its Wehrman again in the middle of the park he robs Broich and finds Zadkovich who blasts a fine shot at the near post but Theoklitos pulls out a great save.

There is half a hour to go and the Roar noticeably step up the intensity, Barbarouses's cross is tipped over the cross bar by Kennedy.

A Roar corner falls to Nicholls who blasts against the upright, its now all the Roar.

Wehrman again wins possession in the middle of the park he sends Haliti away and in a massive turning point of the game he narrowly blasts wide, The Roar immediately go up field and Franjic centres for Solarzano to tap in to pull the visitors level.

In the final minute Wehrman again races through the middle he tees up Zadkovich who blasts one that Theoklitos is able to touch on to the upright.

It ends 1-1..
