I caught the full replay of South Vs Knights yesterday at 6.30pm. David Basheer was commentating.....(God he's shit, infact the whole group of commentators are shite SBS or Optus)...anyway at the half-time break, they cut to Wheatley and he starts his blurb.........then changes tact and starts about the Marc Vs Ade game....."Let's go to the highlights".....but the footage doesn't change and it is still Wheatley looking down the camera lens for at least 30 seconds.......
He then turns and starts talking to Bertie (who is off camera) thinking that all home viewers were watching the highlights from the previous night.........I couldn't hear what they were talking about until this line by Bertie, "Don't worry Robert, you look handsome on camera."
This conversation continued on for the entire length of break until they were ready to re-start the game. I could only catch bits and pieces as the audio was dropping in and out. Bertie mentioned something about saying happy easter to our Greek viewers......
Now was I the only one to hear / see this??? Was I tripping, still on a high from the thrashing we gave those Knights bastards?? Or is there something going on?? :-)
I didn't listen to the interviews....Desira and that Vander Beet root or whatever his name were there. I forgot where I was standing during those last ten minutes and when we scored the 4th, I started jumping up and down cheering.....right infront of the Knights members stand, near the tunnel entrance. Lubo was standing infront of me and he turned and gave me a dirty look and there were a few choice words eminating from the stand......I just held up 4 fingers and that was the end of it.
As Tom Pondeljak made his way off the ground, he called South "those f**king bloody c**ts" which I thought was nice. No-one else said anything....except the South players, you should have heard them when they got into the dressing rooms, THE NOISE!!
I didn't speak to any of the players except to congratulate them, Poste gave me a wink and Filopoulos almost winded me when he slapped my on the back.
I noticed one Knights usher give the ref a blast when he came off the field, something along the lines of "wait till you're outside". As I was leaving I saw a group of Cro fans being threatened by the police who all had there batons ready....pity they didn't use them....they were the same Croats that had come over to the South supporters with that large Croatian flag.
