I have just returned from the Marconi v Spirit game..and left at break neck pace to get here.
If only I'd left before the kick off!.
Spirit won 1-0 in a game which rivals the oft recalled 0-0 draw at Morwell a few years back in category of"worst game I've been to"
Not only were both teams shite, but the ref was shite, and the two linesmen were shite too!
The first half was of a quality I have not seen since Pumpherston Dukla United under 7 girls played the Craigentinny Brownies pack.
I am convinced that the needless handball by a Marconi player hiding in the pack which led to the winner, was an act of kindness on his part.
He obviously realised that the only way anyone would ever score was from a penalty, and decided to give us something to remember in an otherwise dire encounter
Prior to that the most exciting event was when the ref made Marconi retake the second half kick off!
We were so inept we couldn't even kick off properly!!
Good luck to Spirit, they got the points but they were every bit as dire as we were.
In fact it was a game, where had it ended nil- nil, then neither team would have deserved the nil!
The three worse teams in the league without doubt, are(in no particular order) Marconi, Spirit and Knights.
This may have been football Jim, but not as I know it.
