Carlton v Spirit

Round 17 report by David Arnold
Calrton SC v Northern Spirit

Crap game.

Well he does it again. Out of our last 6 goals, he's scored 4, with 2 winners and 2 equalisers. After an injury-interrupted first season at Carlton, Marth is rediscovering his form of the mid 90's.

We lined up with no wingers, Munro's probably had enough of the 'service' into the box. Time for a new approach. Archie to the wing and Jonesy/Moreira upfront. Terminello lined up on the other wing, Packer played midfield. Martin, the promising left-winger, was on the bench.

If we'd lost the game, you would have asked serious questions of Munro. It would have been logicial to start Martin and Packer on the wings but what do I know.

In any case, Moreira was hacked down in the box, obvious to all of us in the Press box, a good 70 metres away. Breeze waved play on, to the furious reaction of Munro (and all of us). Would love to hear the comments from Munro at the Press conference. Kev? ;)

It was a crap game. I am getting rightfully pissed off with the quality of the league. Only 3 games, Brisbane-Carlton, Perth-Carlton and Souths- Carlton have been distinctly memorable. Remedial action is a necissity else the game here is f*cked. Far too many teams are coming to hack and prevent the other team from playing than doing anything themselves.

The strikers at Carlton and Spirit are in shocking form. Seal is probably worse than Moreira, an insult with no match. Jonesy is nowhere near his 97-98 form. Only Thompson is deserving of praise this season. I won't mention the other's coz their unmentionable.

A Spirit guy got sent off - sorry, can't remember - for chopping down Archie. Archie also had to twist himself inside out from being disembowelled on another tackle, but got booked for diving.

I think it was Terminello who won the penalty, after good play down the right wing.

Crap game.
