Marconi v Kingz

Round 11 report by deaser@mail.one.net.au
Marconi-Fairfield v Football Kingz

I was reliably informed by Forza, that tonight's match was the worst he has ever seen a Marconi side play. Fred said this around 100 times so it must be true - not like him to repeat himself.

Actually I'm not really sure how reliable Forza's memory is - most Saturday nights he can't remember where he was the previous Friday. Personally, I can't even remember last week's game - though there are good reasons for that.

I agree with Fred, however, that Marconi were woeful tonight - they could have played till the cows come home and wouldn't have scored. Unlike the Kingz, who are guaranteed to score when the sheep come home.

Eddie tried every combination up front tonight - we had tall ones, small ones, fast ones, slow ones, black ones, white ones - the only thing we didn't try was playing a striker who's willing to have a crack at goal. Honestly, the amount of time our forwards need on the ball, you'd think they get paid on an hourly rate.

Full credit to the Kingz though - they caught the Stallions on a bad night and took full advantage of it - actually they should have won by another couple of goals.

The highlight of the night, from a Forza & GKW point of view, was the two young ladies handing out tickets for free beer. They must have picked us out as fans of the frothy fluid because they gave us 10 tickets - Forza was a bit miffed though because he thought they should have given us enough to last us till after half-time.
