Carlton v Souths

Round 32 report by David Arnold
Carlton SC v South Melbourne

Lacklustre game compared to last week's. The first hour was boring only enlivened by the Hellas moron who decided to set fire to one of Trumper's flags.

Thompson picked the ball up when Souths had the kitchen sink in the Carlton half and ran half the length of the field before rounding DeAmicis and placing it past Jones. If Thompson was English that goal would have been called the greatest of all time.

Souths had plenty of possession but may have used all their goals and luck last time. Trimboli was playing in front of the defence, perhaps a clue for next season.

Moreira got the ball in the channel and pulled back for Terminello to belt home. Moreira actually looked useful. Compared to Mick Conroy who had the ball on his left peg in the box but fell over and skying the ball.

Deano and Atkinson were outstanding for us, both came in for some criticism after the 5-3 game but were top notch tonight.
