Wolves v Kingz

Round 25 report by Grant Stantiall
Wollongong City Wolves v Football Kingz

You bastards!

Lets have a look at the old scoreboard Miss Ford!

Wollongong Wolves 5 Football Kingz (a sorry looking 1)
Venue: Brandon Park, so far winning the ugliest ground competition
Length of grass: Anyone ever seen the rugby field at Hunterville?
Quality of lighting: Anyone seen the lights at Hunterville's rugby ground?

A very brief synopsis from one angry Kingz fan....

Whether it be Brandon Park or South Park, there's no mistaking who was taking the piss tonight.

The Kingz leading 1-0 at half time must have thought the game was in the bag, but no...out came the Wolves and bit them on the arse. Five times. In what can only be described at the most woeful of woeful defending ever seen by this writer (well, maybe with the exception of Melville United's North Island league team from last year), the Kingz were duely put to the sword by an exceptionally well drilled Wollongong Wolves side.

Matt Horsley impressed for the Wolves, while it was galling to see ex Kingz striker Divin'Dino Menillo actually score against us and also not actually dive once in a game. To be fair had a very good game playing so deep.

Ref Con Diomis may have erred in sending off Kingz' goalscorer Che Bunce, but that can't be blamed for such a tragic display by the Kingz.

Any thoughts of a top six spot will have to quickly be put in the back of the Kingz players minds and the focus on securing at least an 8th placing now the priority. A win tonight would have been the tonic but now it's the start of a difficult final run-in for the team.

With Northern Spirit due next Friday, things don't get any easier. If any top six aspirations are left, this is a game the Kingz must win...and win well to satisfy this Kingz fan. Meaning I'll settle for a 1-0 win boys. I hope the Aussie papers put this result front page, because a few players need to hang there heads in shame following this lame effort.

This is also the Kingz worst defeat of the season, just to mince words. Better is expected, lads. Pull finger.
