| Carlton Soccer Club kicked their first ball in the clubs history in a trial game against VSF division two club East Richmond. The game was played amongst a picnic atmosphere and provided coach Eddie Krncevic with an oppurtunity to have a close look at some of the playing talent he has for season 1997/98. Some reports list the result as 5-0 though in the friendly atmosphere of the game this is yet to be confirmed. The first goal for the club went to Craig Lewis who scored with a header a minute before halftime. | ||||
