China v Australia report by FFA

China 3 - Australia 0

Four minutes of second half mayhem has seen the Qantas Matildas go down 3-0 to hosts China at the Four Nations Tournament being held in Quanzhou.

With the scores locked at 0-0 midway through the half and Lisa De Vanna going agonisingly wide in a one-on-one with the outstanding Chinese keeper, China, virtually out of nowhere, scored three goals in four minutes, to inflict what seemed a convincing win.

The scoreline however flattered the hosts with the Matildas having numerous chances but were continually thwarted by the big Chinese keeper, who was very dominant in her area.

The match was also a milestone for three players, with Cheryl Salisbury now the sole all-time appearance leader with 103 caps, while the match saw senior debuts for Kim Carroll and Collette McCallum.

The next match is against Russia on Tuesday.
