Matildas Internationals for 2009

The most remarkable thing about this match is that it marks the last of Australia's Cheryl Salisbury who spoke emotionally about all that she has experienced and leaves behind after the match. She was remarkably eloquent and as Australia's most capped player at any level deserves a lot of recognition, the kind she will no doubt fail to garner. Also the official report states Garriock came on at 12 minutes, I assume the result of poor handwriting. Also I'm confused by the attendance figures. My ticket was numbered 3273 and the western grandstand was well filled, given a capacity of 20,000, the hill stands combine for 4500 seats, so the grandstands have about 7750 each. It was far more than half full... This was a Friendly match.

Perhaps it's time to bring some of those players under consideration from the 'B' match played prior to this one into the team... heh. Anyway this was Joanne Peters' farewell match, so at least one slot opens up. This was a Friendly match.
